Crittenton Staffers are KNX 1070 AM Heroes of the Week
Back in February of this year, Crittenton Services for Children and Families (CSCF) Wraparound Program team members, Michele Fischer and Roxanne Mata, were credited in helping a pregnant woman, Kameeke Treece, through an emergency delivery at the Edmund D. Edelman Children’s Court in Los Angeles County.
Both women are long-time employees of CSCF, are proud Wraparound Services Parent Partners, and are highly skilled social services professionals with a passion in giving aid to children and families in crisis.
Fischer and Mata did not plan on assisting in a birth on the morning of February 4, 2014, but both answered a call-to-action that by default is a fundamental character trait present in many CSCF staff.
For their courageous actions both CSCF Parent Partners were recently recognized as KNX 1070 AM News Radio, Heroes of the Week, and their story was aired on the popular radio segment late last week.
In addition, Fisher and Mata are receiving an award certificate from the radio station and a gift card. They have also been commended by our agency with the CSCF Angel Award for helping in an extraordinary circumstance and by the County of Los Angeles Consortium of Advocates, Parents and Parent Partners for their efforts in helping a child in need.
Since the emergency delivery we got the chance to visit and interact with Beya Mildred Ayon Treece in person in early March. We are happy to report that both Treece and now two-month-old Baby Beya are doing okay.
