FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Crittenton Services for Children and Families
Martha Jasso, Director of Communications
Fullerton, Calif – Each year Crittenton Services for Children and Families (CSCF) conducts a holiday gift drive known as The Angel Tree Program that collects new in-kind donations from October to early December.
For 15 years the Angel Tree Program has been collecting toys, stocking stuffers, gift cards, clothes, and basic necessities on behalf of the children and families Crittenton serves.
“The biggest gift a donor gives is not the one inside the pretty package. It is enlarging the world view of a child to include people who are kind for no reason. Crittenton youth have had so little exposure to that kind of compassion, and every holiday Crittenton makes it a point to show the kids that there is still ‘good’ in the world,” Pat Williams, Angel Tree Program Coordinator and CSCF Volunteer.
Last year alone individual donors, community partners, and corporate sponsors provided holiday gifts for roughly 700 children placed in CSCF Residential Services, Youth Shelter, Wraparound, Community Based, and Foster Care Programs.
It is through the generosity of those who contribute to the annual Angel Tree Program that allows CSCF to meet the demonstrated need of the youth in our care during the holiday season.
The Angel Tree Program also serves as an opportunity for anyone to connect with CSCF clients in a meaningful way, and to help us continue our mission of healing the wounds of trauma, neglect and abuse.
Feeling extra generous this year? If so, why not participate in Crittenton’s Angel Tree Program! CSCF youth have been assisted by their assigned therapist or social worker to create a Santa Wish List. The Angel Tree Program will then try to find donors in the community to make those wishes come true.
This year that donor just might be you!
Angel Tree Program Needs:
- Looking for donors like you to pick a wish off the CSCF Santa Wish List
- $40 maximum (per item and fulfilling multiple “wishes” is always appreciated)
- New and wrapped gifts due by December 10, 2013 (to meet delivery schedule)
