FULLERTON, Calif. – Crittenton Services for Children and Families (CSCF) will host the annual mystery-dinner fundraiser, Mystery Night, on Sunday, March 23, 2014 starting at 5 pm. The fundraiser will once again be held at Angelo’s & Vinci’s Ristorante on 550 N. Harbor Blvd. Fullerton, Calif.

WebAd-MysteryNight2014Since 1999 this annual tradition combines a night full of exciting drama, dinner, and the support of a good cause. Proceeds from Mystery Night 2014 go towards CSCF direct client program efforts that can include: therapy, education, and basic living needs.

“Crittenton is amazed to see the kind of generosity that our support base and advocates show on behalf of our mission. The kind of talent that commits to producing a dinner theater event of this quality is a huge undertaking,” said Martha Jasso, Director of Communications, CSCF, “We are eternally grateful to all of those that make this event possible, and would also like to give special thanks to Cynthia Peck, Owner, Angelo’s & Vinci’s Ristorante, for her generous support and sponsorship of Mystery Night year after year.”

This is an interactive mystery-dinner event where participants get the chance to get involved with the cast of actors working on a theoretical crime case – usually a theft.

Throughout dinner those who attend are teamed up by table and will be given clues in order to solve the “who done it” portion of the evening. At the conclusion of the evening the team who helps solves the case are the Mystery Night 2014 winners.

Each year one of the event’s emcees and lead of the mystery-dinner actor troupe is CSCF’s own Lynda Scarlino, Director, Youth Shelter Program, who has a long career history of serving in the social services field. Scarlino is a native New Yorker and a classically trained actress who studied at the Department of Drama, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.

She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) with an impressive list of credits in film, television and theater as a “character actor”. Among her acting credits include: Bunheads (2013), Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2007), Gilmore Girls (2003), Six Feet Under (2002), and General Hospital to name a few.

“Acting is my passion, but looking out for our community’s most vulnerable is my life’s work. The chance to be able to use my expertise in theater and film and assist in raising awareness and support for children and families in crisis is something I believe in. I would encourage all those with an opportunity to share your talent for worthy causes to do so if you can,” said Scarlino.

For those interested in a night filled with dinner, suspense, raffles, and prizes you can register by mail, email, or call the CSCF Development Office directly. And for those who would like to contribute to CSCF programming efforts without attending Mystery Night 2014 you can donate by phone or through the CSCF online donation page accessible through our website’s homepage www.crittentonsocal.org.

Members of the media interested in covering the event can call the CSCF Communications Office directly for reservation.

Registration for CSCF’s Mystery Night 2014 is going on now until March 14, 2014.
